PlantVoice is a monitoring and control system that helps you realize the optimum greenhouse climate and irrigation strategy, based on plant needs. All data is presented at a glance via a customized visualization.
Plant Empowerment defines the plant’s condition as the central concern. The PlantVoice program, that is developed for the iSii process computer, focusses on the three plant balances: the energy, water, and assimilates balance. These balances are the center of each plant growth model. PlantVoice allows you to keep your plants ‘in balance’, and therefore enables the plant to grow optimally. In addition, you achieve optimum production and quality. With PlantVoice, you adjust the irrigation cycle to the plants’ needs and you realize the ideal greenhouse climate for your crops.
Irrigation based on crop evaporation
Energy supplied from different sources contributes to the plant activity and therefore to the level of evaporation. With our software you can include multiple energy sources, such as lighting, radiation and heating, and calculate the total amount of evaporation energy. This way, you can adjust the irrigation cycle based on the plants’ needs and you irrigate more specifically and more efficiently, which keeps the water balance of the plant in balance.
Stimulate crop growth
The temperature optimization feature in PlantVoice balances the ratio between light sum (production of assimilates) and average temperature (usage of assimilates), i.e. the assimilates balance, which stimulates healthy crop growth. For example, based on the received light sum, PlantVoice calculates the required 24 hour average temperature inside the greenhouse. At high radiation sums, iSii can automatically increase the 24 hour average temperature by control actions determined by the grower. This enables a better assimilates balance.
Detect plant stress
The plant temperature sensor provides a reliable and representative temperature value and is used by PlantVoice to determine the plant’s energy balance. In practice this means that when the measured plant temperature is below the greenhouse temperature, plants are active. When at high radiation the plant temperature is much higher than the greenhouse temperature this indicates plant stress. This negatively affects the photosynthesis process. In this case iSii can for example close the climate screens to decrease the amount of radiation.
