Greenhouse complex “ Novosibirskiy” produces tomatoes and cucumbers, and is located in suburban area of Novosibirsk city in Sibera, Russian Federation. The company started the first phase of their greenhouse complex with an area 4.3 ha in 2010. During the following years the company extended its facilities reaching a total area of 17 ha. The greenhouses are equipped with advanced technologies such as artificial lights and automation. The company produces over 13 thousand tons of vegetables per year and has one of highest yields in Russia. The products of “Novosibirskiy” are supplied to local supermarket chains in different regions of Russia such as “Auchan”, “Metro Cash and Carry”, “Bystronom” and “Maria – Ra”.
The challenge for Novosibirksiy was to find an automation solution that enables them to increase its employees’ productivity and motivation. Having researched several possibilities provided by world’s leading brands in the industry, the management chose the “Nomad “ system of Hoogendoorn. With this, “Novosibirskiy” was one of the first greenhouses in Russia that implemented a labor and production registration system.
Solution & Results
Nomad enabled, “Novosibirskiy” to decrease the amount of employees responsible for labor registration procedures, as the system avoids all manual calculations and also excludes errors. Before installing Nomad, “Novosibirsky” hired accountants for (manual) calculations of worked hours and salary according to employee productivity. Now these tasks aren’t necessary anymore. Efficient calculation of productivity by Nomad makes staff more motivated, resulting in increased efficiency at work.
“At first we agreed on installing “Nomad” only on one block of “Novosibirskiy” for trial. But after having used it for one year, the management decided to install the system in all blocks of the complex” – says Ilya Borodin, CEO of “Greenhouse Systems” and partner of Hoogendoorn in Russia. Thanks to their positive experience with Hoogendoorn “Novosibirskiy” chose the next generation iSii climate computer of its new 8 ha facility to be commissioned in November 2016.
